The collection itself is inspired by the work of a very talented twelve year old named Eva.
Eva had a real passion for reading, loved drawing comics and writing short stories. One of her proudest achievements before she passed away from cancer in 2023 was seeing her writings transformed from various loose pages and enthusiastically filled notebooks into a bound book she titled The Dragon’s Library.
The Dragon’s Library Collection began as a way to support other young writers who demonstrate a similar passion to Eva so that they, too, can see their imaginations take shape in the form of a book. As we have aimed to keep creativity and flow as the driving force in these young authors’ writing, we have kept the spelling, punctuation and content of their writing untouched. We aim to present the voice of the young authors in its purest form as we share these stories with you.
The team at the BC Children's Hospital gave everything they could to make Eva's days and future as bright as they could be.
Your contributions will support Child Life, who bring the spark of joy to patients, and research into osteosarcoma treatment taking place at the hospital.
Each September, Eva's friends and family come together to join the Terry Fox Run in Stanley Park.
Team 💚 lil' green hearts, raises money and awareness for the Terry Fox Foundation to support the foundation's incredible work in cancer research.
It is also an opportunity for us all to gather and continue to heal as a group.
Vancouver Is Awesome shares Eva's story and shines a light on the Dragon's Library Collection project.
We are so honoured to have The Dragon’s Library appear in the 4th Paws graphic novel. This series has been very close to our hearts. Thank you Nathan & Michele for showing your support.
